Judging a bookstore by it’s cover

Monarq brought me in to collaborate with them on the design of the McGill University Bookstore website. The site needed not only a new look, but increased functionality and better mobile performance. We worked to create a site that was clean, functional and beautiful.

A few ways we improved the site:

  • Made all type that was previously embedded in images live type for better mobile responsiveness, better accessibility and better SEO.

  • Brought more products above the fold.

  • A more streamlined cart experience.

  • Decreased the overall size of the header.

  • Added french english language toggles.

  • Simplified and clearer product grid.

  • Clearer hierarchy across the page.

  • Flexible feature category boxes and modular elements that can be turned on and off as needed.
